The Hermitage Ensemble - Music for celebrations

The Hermitage Ensemble is an Edinburgh-based group comprising of a regular core of three skilled players of piano, flute and cello. We can provide background music to create a relaxed atmosphere during a wide range of social occasions such as weddings services and receptions, birthdays or other celebration dinner parties.

We play regularly at large corporate events in Edinburgh and Glasgow and we have enjoyed a residency with the Scottish Arts Club in Edinburgh. In May 2007, we made our third appearance at the Catering in Scotland Excellence Awards at the Glasgow Hilton. This led to an invitation to play at the Council Chambers in Glasgow in April 2008 for the annual fundraising dinner held by the Scottish Federation of Chefs. We also regularly perform at the Leith Festival,  made our fourth appearance in June of 2008 closing the week-long event under Junction Street bridge to an audience of more than 350.

Our repertoire is constantly expanding and we particularly enjoy the opportunity to learn new music which is specially requested for a forthcoming engagement. Clearly, our ideal venue is one where a good piano is a fixture, however we do provide a high quality electronic instrument if a power supply is available. This facility allows us to travel and we regularly take on engagements in Glasgow and on the West Coast of Scotland. For your event, we would welcome consultation on the programme of music to be played, and a full list of pieces in our current repertoire is listed here. For weddings, we are happy to perform the standard ceremonial marches and play the hymns of your choice.
